- Today, I stumbled upon a very handy class: SyndicationFeed. This class, introduced in.NET 3.5, allows to manipulate syndication feeds (like RSS 2.0 or Atom 1.0) with very little code. It can be used to create and publish our own feeds, or to read existing ones. For instance, here’s how to retrieve the news feed from Google News and display its title, its hyperlink, and the titles of it’s.

Learning about fashion, gaining inspiration, is definitely aided by visualising the process. Curating what inspires you is an engaging and fun way of nailing down what you like. It provides a visual record that you can look back on. Pinterest is, for example, a website based entirely on the inspo album idea. So let’s take a look at a minimalism inspo album, curated by someone else (I am not claiming that I created this content!). Hopefully you can use this post as a resource to spur your own thoughts, and to find new sources of minimalist fashion inspiration.
An “inspo album” is super helpful in this. Minimalism is, of course, an aesthetic as well as a lifestyle. We have all seen those editorial, magazine style photographs of immaculate looking homes that do not appear lived in. I don’t personally find them as inspiring as seeing more “real” examples. When it comes to fashion, however, I think there’s room for sources of inspiration like street style, magazine and runway shows. We can basically just say “I’d wear that!”

So in this post I’m going to make use of the huge “Big Ol Minimalism Inspo Album” posted on Reddit’s MaleFashionAdvice community at the tail end of February 2018. Here are my highlights!

Minimalism inspo 1: A monochrome women’s look with loafers [number 2]
This is a look that shows how accessible the minimalist aesthetic can be. It also shows how you can take inspiration from women’s and men’s fashion. Macaw 1 5. The take-aways for me, here, are:
- Subtle styling cues like rolled up sleeves can add a lot. Especially in terms of playing with proportions. The skinny trousers are well balanced out by the flowy fit of the shirt.
- The loafers look great. I have considered a pair for a while, but I don’t currently need a new pair of formal shoes. This outfit shows how loafers can work in more casual looks, too. I would personally wear them with socks.
Minimalism inspo 2. A classic, yet very modern looking, look with wool trousers and leather sneakers [number 14]
I am a sucker for this kind of look. At the beginning of the year I declared my intention to try and build this kind of look into the core of my wardrobe. This is a look that really benefits from tailoring or alterations to get the perfect look.
- Cropped trousers can look extremely clean, but they are not the be-all and end-all. The trousers could sit slightly lower, just hitting the tops of the shoes.
- Because the colour palette of this so muted, it helps that each item looks (or is?) expensive.
Minimalism inspo 3. Drape and oversized fits [Number 42]
- This challenging outfit is interesting because of its oversized nature. It helps, I think, that the model is very thin. The setting of the photo helps, too. It makes me think of traditional Japanese rural clothing
- The greys and browns go so well together, but what is really king here is the mix of textures and weaves. When you restrict yourself in terms of colour, these details can give a lot of depth, making simple looks pleasing to look at.
Minimalism inspo 4. Denim and wool makea a great combination [43] and [50] Oversized grey coat + all black.
- Another womenswear look, this can easily be adapted. Chelsea boots and slim, skinny or tapered jeans/trousers are great for pairing with items like oversized knitwear and denim shirts.
- Again, the styling is pleasing, and calls attention to the layering. It makes everything look very intentional.
- Grey really is the “in” choice for neutrals. And for good reason. It looks godly with black, chic with navy, and it allows colours to pop.
- This look exemplifies how one killer item can make an entire outfit look hella fuego
Minimalism inspo 5. Simple looks = Well put together [55]
What I enjoy about this outfit is that is highly achievable. Every item is a “classic” menswear item, likely to be in a capsule wardrobe. A classic cotton shirt, a simple t-shirt for a base layer, is teamed with high-shine derbies and slim trousers.
Again this guy has gone for the cropped trousers look, which does show off the shoes. You could easily go a bit fuller and longer in the trouser.
Minimalism inspo 6. Breton stripes and denim [83]
A great styling tip of mine is to pair Breton stripes and denim. A denim jacket would look great here, but the cardigan works just as well.
Minimalism inspo 7. Wider trousers and a blazer [104]
This is what I have been talking about throughout this post about the fullness of a trouser leg providing a bit of interest. I like the whole look, but the blazer / jacket is something I both like and dislike at the same time. This is a look where a few tweaks and, for me, it would be perfect. Although I am usually a huge fan of Chelsea boots, I think a chunkier shoe like a derby or combat boot would exemplify this look, too.

Since the creation of the RSS format in 1999, there has been a dedicated user base for the format, and as a result a wide variety of programs to choose from, for PC, Mac, and Mobile devices alike. With the end of the Google Reader RSS program back in 2013, there has been an expansion of options for those still inclined to use RSS as a news feed. Here, we take a look at five of the best options for RSS readers for 2018.
Digg Reader
For the second over startup, it has been a long journey to make it on this list. Initially a news site with many features that would be familiar to those who use their younger rival, Reddit, Digg would incorporate features that would make it an RSS favorite for years before succumbing to a few controversies and significant layoffs. However, under new ownership and with the start of Digg Reader in mid 2013, the site would come to life yet again as a dedicated RSS reader with a cleaner format and versions for iOS, PC, and Android. There has been a significant focus on ease of use, this RSS reader is great for those looking to expand their news for the first time.
feedly Mini
Next on our list of RSS readers is the feedly Mini Chrome extension. While so far only available for the Google Chrome browser, this little extension is a wonderful addition to anyone who cares to download it. The layout is very easy to use (though the icon for it may be hard to find at first, as it matches the same color scheme as Chrome), and with semi-frequent updates, the bugs that have existed are often wiped away without delay. There is also iOS support, though this has been more or less a proof of concept when compared to the native Chrome version.
RSSOwl
While perhaps not the prettiest RSS reader on this list, the desktop program RSSOwl is among the most easy to get acquainted with in terms of features. Allowing for Google reader synchronization (though this may be less important in the coming year), tabbed reading options, and plenty of reader customization, RSSOwl is a great option to curate newsfeeds in a quick and elegant manner.
QuiteRSS
Both Open Source and thus naturally quite the cross-platform trekker, QuiteRSS leads the way for most trends in the RSS Reader world. Allowing for quick startup and even quicker news, QuiteRSS has a list of tools to read, share and discuss the newest stories with friends and colleagues via social media sharing. QuiteRSS also allows for stories to be transferred onto an Evernote account, making access anywhere a breeze. Aiseesoft mac pdf to image converter 3 1 50 amp.
The Old Reader
The nice RSS App with the odd name, The Old Reader is among the best designed RSS Readers for 2018. With a no-ad design and the ability to store 100 feeds for free (though there is a premium version with a significantly higher feed store count), this reader allows you to also share stories through social media accounts quickly, easily, and without hijacking. For those coming on from other readers, OPML import and export options are available with The Old Reader, making account transfers a breeze. With a neat design, The Old Reader is at home both on mobile as well as PC and Mac platforms.
